The Breath Foundation

A 6 week online guide for gentle self regulation through the breath with Sonja Lockyer

Let’s breathe.

Welcome! I am so thrilled you have you here

and excited about the Breath Foundation journey that lies ahead.

The Breath Foundation is designed to offer you a safe, simple resource for remembering how to self regulate yourself with your breathing. My intention is that after 6 weeks of these practices you will feel knowledgeable in how to support yourself - body and mind - through life’s ups and downs. Everything I share here is soothing, offering you access to calm and grounding.

Breath practices and mindfulness will bring you back to the present moment. Whilst you practice you may become more aware of sensation in the body which is a gateway for embodiment. For most people this is a path towards liberation but for some it can feel unfamiliar & disconcerting. I encourage you to reach out for support from your GP or a professional mental health care practitioner if it feels too much. Please hold the practices and yourself with compassion and care.

Before you get started, I have created 2 introductory videos to help you prepare - a welcome video to help you orient yourself to the framework of The Breath Foundation and an important video detailing contraindications of breath practices. Please be sure to watch both videos before you begin. Once you have done that you can follow the sequence of sessions week by week below.
