Why meditate?
Here are some evidence based benefits of a consistent meditation practice.
Loving Kindness Meditation has been proven to reliably increase positive emotions such as joy, gratitude, serenity and curiosity which deepen into a lasting psychological resource over time (Barbara Fredickson study)
Authentic positivity
As women, we can be brutally hard on ourselves. Studies show that self criticism and shame are significantly reduced with consistent loving kindness practice, which can be transformational for those with a strong inner critic.
Kindness
Structural changes within the neural pathways of the brain have long been proven to reduced symptoms of depression and PTSD. Perhaps most surprisingly of all, the impact of consistent practice on the cortex of the brain has been proven to reduce the intensity of physical pain and emotional suffering.
Ease
Often we struggle to rest or sleep as our minds whirl with figuring it all out and cognitively processing / solution finding. As we strengthen our interoception (sensing the body from within) through our practice it becomes easier to be present in an embodied way, experiencing life through the body, cultivating self regulation and equanimity.
Rest
Your day, with more you in it - everyday
Over 90 days OMR members have noticed a greater connection to :
+ ENERGY - Better sleep patterns, healthier food choices & less relational drama
+ IMMUNE SYSTEM - Nervous system recalibration & natural stress reduction leads to reduced inflammation and better health
+ BOUNDARIES - Clarity around the push & pull of relationships, respect for the boundaries of others & ownership of your own
+RESILIENCE - Increased capacity for the discomfort of stress & life challenges
+FOCUS - Building capacity to be quiet & still
+HONESTY - A transformative relationship with reality & truth

“I genuinely cannot imagine my life without the morning ritual. I cannot put into words the enormity of its wider impact on my life which transcends the morning practice. In my regular gratitude practice I give thanks for having Sonja in my life and for her having set up the morning ritual.”

“OMR has seen me through menopause, through lockdown, through bouts of depression and sickness and it has only ever brought me friendship and something to feel good about in my life.”
— OMR member
“OMR helps to keep me focused on what's important for me to do each day- knowing I can find inner calm through my breath, mindfulness and yoga. I come back to the sensations of the morning ritual during my day when I find I need that sense of calm.”
